MFG has been tapping into a new revenue stream, with a successful trial of a Spotless Water machine leading to a rollout at other sites.
The Top 50 Indie has seen strong early results from the initial installation of the pure water dispensers at St Albans in Hertfordshire. And this will be replicated at forecourts in Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, and Hatch End in north west London before the end of the year.
Spotless Water says that additional MFG stations will follow “as the partnership progresses”.
The St Albans forecourt has seen more than 5,000 fills in its first eight months of operation. The self-service machines, which dispense purified water used for streak-free cleaning, are popular with window cleaners, valeters, aquarists, and other trade professionals.
Park Garage Group, which installed a Spotless Water machine at its Herringthorpe, Rotherham site 21 months ago, has also recently taken another for its flagship site in Rushden, Northamptonshire. It plans to connect its latest machine to its jet washers to provide streak-free cleaning.
Spotless Water says that rolling out its machines into forecourts provides petrol station operators with a new revenue stream, and cleaning and maintenance professionals, who rely on pure water, with a convenient source without needing to purchase costly equipment to maintain themselves.
It says that its patent-pending technology minimises water waste and removes the need for disposable resins or harsh cleaning agents, ”allowing customers to achieve spot-free results quickly, and sustainably”.
Since launching in 2016, it has dispensed over 600 million litres and now supports more than 19,000 weekly refills across 150 UK locations, many of which are at storage and sports facilities. It has an ambition to be available at 1,200 sites by 2029, with petrol stations being a prime target.
The latest partnership supports MFG’s wider strategy to maximise value from every part of its estate by hosting high-performing concessions that enhance convenience for customers.
MFG chief investment officer Adam Wadlow says: ”We have seen strong demand for the service in St Albans offering additional convenience for professional users, and strengthening our commitment to host a diverse range of high-quality services across our sites.”
He adds: “It is great to see the next steps Spotless Water is taking with MFG to broaden the trial to more of our locations.”
Tim Morris, chief executive of Spotless Water, adds: “This partnership with MFG represents an exciting step forward in our mission to improve national access to pure water. The synergy between our users, who are constantly on the move, and MFG’s high-quality, well-located forecourts makes for a powerful collaboration.
“Our stations bring new, regular trade customers directly to the site, while offering MFG a hassle-free, value-adding concession that complements existing services. We’re looking forward to expanding further across the MFG estate and partnering with more forecourt owners and retailers as demand continues to grow.”
